As we approach the end of 2025, it’s a great time to look back at another successful year at Oil Recoveries, marked by industry recognition, strengthening partnerships and collaboration, continued investment and measurable environmental impact. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve accomplished:
Award Winning Year: 2025 saw Oil Recoveries win the Outstanding Commitment to the Environment Award at the Employer’s Excellence Awards, in partnership with Metro. The award recognises organisations with an unwavering dedication to preserving our planet and who can demonstrate making a positive impact on the environment. This fantastic achievement stands as a testament to our mission of driving sustainability, reducing waste and creating long-term environmental value. We are proud to protect the environment by turning waste into reusable products through circular economy practices.
Exhibitions & Events: Our team was on the road attending and exhibiting at nine major events throughout the year, including the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Supply Chain Event (January), the UK Concrete Show (February), DPRTE (March), the Commercial Vehicle Show (April), Mechanex in Harrogate (May), Chem UK (May), Automechanika (June), Multimodal (June), UK Metals Show (September), sharing all the different ways we can help businesses. It was fantastic connecting with so many professionals across all the different industries we support – automotive, industrial (manufacturing/aerospace/rail) and marine. These events allowed us to showcase how Oil Recoveries supports businesses nationwide with compliant, sustainable waste management solutions. We’re excited to meet even more of you at upcoming events in 2026 – stay tuned on our social media for details!
Alliances: We’ve actively participated with the industry organisations we are members of which are all listed here.
Community Support: At Oil Recoveries, we are committed to supporting our local community. This year, we raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. We also sponsored a youth football team, netball team and continued our partnership with students from our local College.
Investment: We continued to invest in the training and development of our teams and added new vehicles and equipment to our specialist fleet. Further enhancement of our processes, included rolling out a digital real-time tracking waste consignment system to replace the traditional paper-based consignment notes.
Sustainability: At Oil Recoveries we are committed to sustainability and actively contributing to the circular economy. Our drivers work across the UK to collect and ensure the re-refining of millions of litres of waste oil and recycling waste, actively contributing to the circular economy. In February, we published our independently assessed carbon report. Compiled by the 2030hub it highlighted the impact of our waste recovery efforts and the carbon savings achieved. In a 12 month period we collected 10,052,870 litres of used lubricant for re-refining, resulting in avoided carbon emissions of 27,185 tonnes. This is equivalent to: 168 acres of forest, 101,372 car miles, 6,041 average adult carbon footprints!
Looking Ahead: As we reflect on a year full of achievements, we’d like to thank all our clients, partners and team members who’ve played an integral role in our journey. We’re excited for what 2026 will bring as we continue to grow!
Here’s to another successful year ahead!
